Returning/Editing Scripts that have been Submitted to PDMP

Follow the instructions below to return or edit a script that has already been submitted to PMP.

Returning a Script

When a script has already been submitted for PDMP reporting and then the script is returned, you can complete the Return to Stock process for that script in the Script Filling screen.

1.In the Script Filling screen, select the script that needs to be returned and click on the Preview Script button.

2.Click on the Options button.

3.Select Return To Stock. The "Return to Stock" window will open, showing the fill's details.

4.Enter a Reason for returning the fill. (You can search for a reason in the Reason Code field or you can enter a free-text reason into the Reason field.)

5.You can also add any necessary Notes.

6.Text will be shown toward the bottom of the window stating what will happen to the fill after it has been returned (e.g., "Script will be placed on hold" or "Refill will be deleted").

If you are returning the original fill for the script (with a sequence number of zero), you will have the option to click on the Delete Script checkbox. The text next to this box will state "Entire script will be deleted." (If this box is NOT checked, the script will be placed on Hold.)

7.Click Return To Stock. The fill's drugs will be returned to your inventory. (If the script has approved claims that need to be reversed, the button will read Reverse Claims and Return To Stock. Any claims for this script will be reversed before it is returned to stock.)

8.After the script has been returned, a "Void" message will automatically be submitted for the script the next time the PDMP report runs.

Editing a Script

There are some circumstances where a script that has already been submitted may need to be edited (e.g., when the doctor's DEA number was incorrect). To edit a script in this situation, follow the instructions below.

1.First, you will need to ensure that the prescribing doctor's DEA information has been corrected.

2.Next, open the Script Filling screen.

3.Select the script that needs to be edited and click on the Preview Script button.

4.Click on the Edit button.

5.A pop-up window will appear, letting you know that the script has already been picked up and that the only information that you can edit is insurance and pricing information. Click OK to continue.

6.Then click on the Send Revised PMP button.

7.The revised message will be sent the next time the PDMP report runs.
