Default Values

You can use the Default Values screen to set up specific defaults for your pharmacy. These defaults will override system defaults and use settings that better suit your pharmacy's needs.

 

For example, when you are setting up a new Insurance record (Maintenance > Insurances), the system defaults the Pharmacy ID Qualifier (B2) field to the "NPI" option. You can manually change this option as needed. However, if your pharmacy wants to use a different default (e.g., "NCPDP Provider ID"), you can enter a Default Value to make this change. Then, whenever a user enters a new Insurance record, the NCPDP option will be selected automatically.
